I’m a graduate counseling student. I wasn’t impressed by the material presented in this book.

This is a good resource book with good explanations of the theory behind the approach and examples of how it can be applied. The book also contains many different assessments and intervention ideas for counselors to use in their work with couples. The Hope-Focused Approach comes out of attachment theory and emotion focused therapy interventions and adds the dimension of hope through Jesus Christ. The authors suggest entering into each couples intervention with an attitude of hope that the marriage can be helped. I refer to this book often, especially in my work with families at the pregnancy center.

Love that many references and resources are provided and step by step interventions are offered in the book. Many links to online materials also.

Great book. Most ordering this are probably taking a course in counseling of some sort, but I recommend for any lay reader interested in counseling, or interested in being married. Sound advice and easy to read.

I love this book. I didn't know anything about hope-focused couple therapy until i took the class that required this book. It has alot of tools and helping aids. This will be one I won't be sending back or selling on a textbook site.
